Juliana Westphal, DVM

Dr. Juliana Westphal is the proud owner and lead veterinarian at Sonoran Foothills Pet Clinic. With over five years of experience as a licensed veterinarian in Phoenix, AZ, and nearly a decade working as a veterinary nurse and hospital administrative assistant, Juliana has dedicated her career to providing compassionate care to pets and building lasting relationships with their owners.

A graduate of Midwestern University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, Juliana earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2019. Her journey to becoming a veterinarian began much earlier. Originally from Brazil, she moved to the United States at 18 and worked her way from kennel assistant to veterinary technician before pursuing her dream of veterinary medicine. Her experiences in the field, combined with her personal drive, have shaped her into a knowledgeable and empathetic veterinarian who goes above and beyond for her patients.

Juliana is passionate about preventative medicine and believes that fostering a strong bond between the pet, owner, and veterinarian is key to ensuring long, healthy lives for the animals in her care. Her ability to connect with her patients and their owners is one of the many reasons her clients trust her with their pets’ well-being. Whether guiding owners through the challenges of puppyhood or providing gentle and compassionate support during end-of-life care, Juliana treats every pet with the same dedication and kindness she would her own.

Outside the clinic as a veterinarian in Phoenix, AZ, Juliana enjoys spending time with her husband and their pets, whom she refers to lovingly as their “furry children,” including three cats and four dogs, all with unique stories and personalities. Whether traveling with her husband or swimming, she makes time for what she loves, and her pets are always by her side.

Juliana’s commitment to her clients extends beyond the day-to-day operations of her clinic. In one notable instance, she was able to help a client whose pet was diagnosed with cancer by finding a qualified surgeon who could perform the necessary procedure at half the cost of the original estimate from a specialty clinic. This dedication to providing options for her clients, combined with her research and expertise, is a testament to her problem-solving abilities and genuine care for the people and pets she serves.

With Sonoran Foothills Pet Clinic, Juliana is fulfilling her lifelong dream of helping animals while creating a welcoming, trustworthy environment for pet owners in her community. She looks forward to continuing her work, growing her practice, and making a difference in the lives of pets and their families for years to come.
